Onward to Ziggy & the Bear

Going under interstate 10.

I did say it was spectacular!!
Hello everyone this is just a little update on where we are & what we're doing today. I mean right now: Highway 10 near a place called Cabazon and Joshua Tree is not to far from here... We are just heading toward White Water Hiker House.
We got up this morning at about 4:45 thanks to tidy campers bowel movements. Dirty girl was not happy. In fact she began to whine about the harshness of life. The winds were howling above and it was cold and it was pitch black. She did not want to get out of her sleeping bag. She didn't have much choice however because once tidy camper is up game over day begins. Just as daylight broke we began our hike. Today we were going to descend 6000 feet. This is the steepest descent on the PCT. I, dirty camper would like to share this experience with you. It took us 15 miles to descend 6000 feet. This is how we did it: we walked 1 mile toward our goal and then we walked 1 mile away from goal-and then we walked 1 mile toward our goal then we walked 1 mile away from our goal. We walked 5 miles and maybe we only descended 30 feet that's what it felt like. I have never descended anything so heinous in my entire life. The sum total is probably we walked 7.5 miles in the right direction and 7.5 miles in the wrong direction. The scenery however was spectacular. Tidy camper called it a lovely botanical garden and Boulder walk. I will give you one more illustration. Remember the other day I told you to bend paper in half and then drive zigzag lines on both sides and join the paper together? Do the same thing but this time draw 100 straight lines from right to left and then join them by little diagonal lines in between each of those hundred lines, that was our walk today
Although a bit irritating the walk was spectacular. The flowers were blooming like crazy and gave us much cause to pause. Pause to smell them, pause to touch them, pause to listen to them & pause to wonder. There were tiny miniature flowers the size of the smallest carpenter finishing nails, but so noticeable. They were the colors of the Jamaican flag. Other flowers were shaped like trombones without the slider and tubas that were really thin. Come to the desert in the springtime. No one should miss this.
Today we walked for about 12 hours and we're almost done in, but we arrived at the trail Angel house of Ziggy and the bear. Can you believe that when we came in within five minutes Diane and I had our feet in an Epson salt foot bath? More about Ziggy and the bear tomorrow. I have to go to bed now because I'm really tired. There are about 25 people sleeping outdoors on carpeted lawn. I'm going to be person number 26. Talk to you tomorrow good night.
I apologize for all the grammatical mistakes capitals were there should be little letters no commas no periods etc. dirty girl did get her first degree in English literature and had to know how to write a sentence properly. My apologies.
