We're starting to eat like bears and look like gorillas. Other than that the adventure continues to ripen. Good Eye is still off the trail on antibiotics and I gave my antibiotics away to someone yesterday who had a nasty bronchial infection. That's how it goes but apparently this year of the Horse is especially good for wood sheep and both Diane and I are those animals so I'm not worrying about anything. Later friends and hairy beasts. DBG

Cleveland National Forest
We have escaped the pleasure vortex of Mt .Valley Retreat. The comfort and ease was overwhelming but we made it. We're back onThe Trail. The first ten miles was like walking in the Scottish highlands except for the occasional cactus and California poppy that surfaced. I'm certain I saw a guy playing bagpipes in the distance....It was green, rolling and windy. Walking temperature was ideal. The next 7 or 8 miles was uphill and by a stream. We have not been by water for 118 miles- not of any significant flow or magnitude. This river sang. By the time we made camp the river was gone. We're on top of some mountain (above 4,000ft) twatching the fog descend on what might be the San Bernadino Valley.
